Silent march to honor a husband, Basilio Saladdin, a father, a grandfather, "an esteemed servant of the fatherland who fell in an attempt to defend the women of his family". The initiative in Porto Torres on Tuesday 8 March on the occasion of International Women's Day, an opportunity to allow the entire city community to gather around the Saladdino family and express the closeness and warmth of the city.

The meeting is scheduled at 3 pm near the so-called "60 steps" in via Principessa Giovanna and then continues in the direction of the Saladdino family home. The procession will continue its silent march through the covered promenade and then go up the Corso Vittorio Emanuele towards Piazza Umberto I where it will gather in a few minutes of silence during which, symbolically, a candle will be lit in memory of the victims of such senseless violence.

The 74-year-old retired policeman was killed last Saturday in front of his home by his son-in-law Fulvio Baule, 40, the murderer who also attacked his 66-year-old mother-in-law Caterina Mancusa and his 39-year-old daughter Ilaria Saladdino. Participants will be given yellow ribbons to wear during the event.
