Tragedy this morning on Pittulongu beach, in Olbia .
A woman of about 70 years old just before 11 am died while taking a walk by the sea. She fell ill and suddenly collapsed under the terrified eyes of hundreds of swimmers .
She was at the sea with her husband and a group of friends, she literally collapsed and ended up in the water . The long attempts to revive the woman were useless, while the bathers - and in particular the victim's friends and husband - screamed.
On the spot the carabinieri, the men of the Port Authority and the 118 rescuers. When a white sheet was spread over the lifeless body of the 70-year-old, everyone understood that there was nothing more to be done.
