La Maddalena, on the dinghy against the rocks: a young Navy officer dies

Tragedy tonight in La Maddalena in the waters between Isola Madre and those of Santo Stefano.

A young Navy officer died following the impact on some outcropping rocks; he was on a dinghy with a girl.

The incident occurred around 4 this morning.

The Coast Guard intervened on site and recovered the girl unharmed while the young man's body was recovered about an hour later, at first light. It is now located in the morgue of the La Maddalena cemetery.
