A 27-year-old Portuguese tourist died this afternoon after falling ill on the rocks at Cala Cartoe, off the coast of Dorgali.

His friends raised the alarm shortly after 1:00 PM because he had been missing for a couple of hours and they couldn't find him. The Carabinieri and the Coast Guard joined the search effort at the scene.

The young man was found lying on the rocks. Emergency workers could do nothing for him, except pronounce him dead. His body has already been returned to his family.
