The deputy of the DDA of Cagliari, Gaetano Porcu, has requested the indictment of 22 people and 6 companies involved in an alleged waste trafficking from Olbia to the Cagliari area . A group of people residing in the Gallura city apparently set up seven clandestine waste storage sites from which vehicles loaded with material left for Cagliari, Sardara, Decimomannu and other centers in the south of the island .
The Municipality of Olbia, together with the Region, is the injured party of the alleged offenses detected by the Carabinieri until 2022. We are talking about the transport, illicit according to the DDA, of waste, including dangerous ones, which were then purchased "below cost" by the companies .
The investigations start from a series of investigations, originally started by the local police of Olbia, on the storage of thousands of tons of ferrous waste, but also material classified as dangerous, in areas that in the past hosted nomad camps . The suspects, among whom there are some of the most important companies in the waste disposal sector in Sardinia, are assisted, among others, by Pierluigi Concas, Guido Manca Bitti, Marcella Muzzu, Massimo Macciotta, Cristina Mele and Francesco Iovino.
