The permanent garrison of farmers and shepherds moves from Porto Torres to Sassari. The tractor protest continues indefinitely in the north-west of Sardinia, awaiting responses from Europe. Behind the discontent there is a common denominator: the EU's common agricultural policy (CAP).

This morning around thirty agricultural vehicles left Porto Torres to march towards Sassari. At 11am it reached the area near the agricultural market, in the commercial area of Predda Niedda, where the patrol would continue. «In line with the European Green Deal, this policy has allocated 30% of resources to environmental initiatives by reducing the subsidy budget for farmers and has introduced restrictions on some practices, such as the use of plant protection products and fertilizers harmful to the environment and the quality of the food, which have caused an increase in production costs", claims farmer Vincenzo Nieddu from Sassari.

Among the protesters also Giovanna Ara from Porto Torres in support of the agricultural sector, who has been managing an agricultural company with her family for 50 years. Paolo Porqueddu, another farmer from Turrita, with a family tradition to be protected: «It is increasingly complicated to work also due to the drought, especially for those who do not have their own wells, a situation that damages cereals and pastures above all».
