Reserved places on the free beach of Balai, complete with illegal pre-installation of umbrellas and deckchairs on the always crowded beach of Porto Torres. They occupy spaces in the lido that already offers a limited surface area for the many bathers who, every day, want to dive into the crystalline waters of the sea of the Gulf of Asinara.

There is no restraint on the rudeness of some users who grab first and second places on the beach, setting up the area with towels and empty deckchairs placed at a distance to avoid being disturbed. They place their towels occupying enormous spaces and limiting the possibility for other bathers to enjoy a day in the sun.

Reports from beachgoers, who have long been on the warpath against illegal occupations, have not been slow to arrive. Those present have reported what happens “as a rule” on the beach to the men of the Port Authority of Porto Torres. Local police officers also keep watch on the beaches with a daily service scheduled from 8 am to 2 pm and from 2 pm to 8 pm to ensure compliance with the ordinance on smoking and to penalize uncivilized behavior.
