"The composting plant in Tossilo must be restarted in the coming months, no later than the summer, and shortly thereafter also the long-awaited waste-to-energy plant". A clear and strong signal to the Region was launched by the Prefect of Nuoro, Giancarlo Dionisi , during the meeting that took place yesterday, with the representatives of the competent regional councillorships, the mayors, the trade unions and the managers of the Industrial Consortium and of Tossilo Spa.

"In this sense - writes the Prefect - I will formally ask the President of the Region, Christian Solinas, to renew the already demonstrated willingness to make the utmost commitment, including financial, to facilitate the positive conclusion of the Tossilo question ".

In addition to the aspect linked to workers' salaries, for which we are moving towards a positive solution, the Tossilo question also revolves around two other fundamental questions, which concern the industrial and the environmental aspects . "The investments with regional and European funds (about 50 million euros), to make the waste disposal plant work and modernize - specifies the Prefect - make it necessary to speed up the procedures, the technical and administrative ones, to reach, in a few months , the start-up of the composting plant and that of the new waste-to-energy line».

"No less important - underlines the Prefect - the environmental issue, because failure to start up the plants could generate , in addition to the administrative consequences, at least on the tax profile, also devastating damage linked to the risk of soil, subsoil and groundwater pollution ».

The Prefect is available to coordinate the work, to quickly obtain the technical and administrative authorizations and to facilitate the start-up processes of the Tossilo plants.
