White smoke at the center-right table: Marcello Ladu is the candidate for mayor of Tortolì for the coalition. Forty-five years old, teacher and citizen representative of Psd'Az, is an expression shared by Udc, Lega, Sardegna 20Venti and Fratelli d'Italia. It had been clear for some time that the coalition was betting on Ladu, but the official announcement came around 8pm today.

"The centre-right coalition finds an agreement on the programmatic bases and on the name of the candidate for mayor, identified in the person of Marcello Ladu". So says the note released on the sidelines of the decisive meeting.

Fratelli d'Italia was counting on the lawyer Luigi Cardia as a candidate for mayor. "In the interest of coalition unity, FdI takes a step to the side, deciding in any case to make a strong contribution to government action with a fair leading role in the future executive by engaging men and women of the party". Also present at the meeting were the other centre-right forces, UDC, Lega, Sardegna 20Venti in the persons of Fausto Mascia, Salvatore Sinatra and Gigi Serra. "The path - they say from the table - will be implemented by representatives of civil society".

That of Marcello Ladu, minority councilor during the administration of Massimo Cannas which came to an end a year early, is the second official name on the field after that of Lara Depau, 54, who was Cannas's deputy except later distrust him along with eight other dissidents.
