In the violent impact between the Mitsubishi L200 and the Lancia Ypsilon, the compact car sustained the most damage. Its front right side was completely destroyed and it ended up off the roadway at kilometer 177 of state road 198, a few hundred meters from the junction for provincial road 27 towards Villagrande.

In today's accident, around 9.30 am, a man from Ilbono, who was driving the off-road vehicle (which was damaged on the side), and a young man from Gairo were involved.

Emergency responders from 118, coordinated by staff from the Sassari operations center, responded to the scene and provided first aid to the two drivers. The young man driving the Ypsilon was injured and complained of chest pains.

For further tests, he was taken to the Lanusei Emergency Room, where doctors performed instrumental tests to reach a definitive diagnosis.

The driver of the SUV was uninjured. Lanusei traffic police officers responded to the scene to conduct investigations and determine the exact circumstances of the collision, which occurred during a downpour. The Tortolì firefighters also responded to the accident site to secure the area. Traffic was slowed at that point.
