A petition to the Municipality of Maracalagonis , the Region and the Prefect for the recognition of the status of a hamlet for the tourist coastal resort of Torre delle Stelle . A request reinforced with 728 signatures collected by the New Torre delle Stelle association .

The objective is illustrated by the president of the same association, Franco Iurato : “Torre delle Stelle has always had too many problems , in particular viability, the sewer system that does not exist, public lighting, the waste collection service to be improved. We have collected 728 signatures which - says Iurato - say yes to the status of a fraction . Our aim? Collaborate with one of our representatives for the growth of Torre delle Stelle. Just this".

The text of the petition reads, among other things: "The social realities of Torre delle Stelle (residents, second home owners, economic operators) have been almost totally excluded from any decision-making sphere and have been able to experience first-hand how penalizing it is not have the opportunity to actively contribute in proposing intervention priorities, infrastructural improvements still to be carried out, in carrying out a function of control of the regular execution of municipal contracts (often carried out in an unsatisfactory way), in planning, even on a voluntary basis and under the municipal supervision, initiatives
aimed at improving the decor of the territory, increasing the tourist and cultural offers ".
“For this - add the residents - the initiative resulted in the petition in support of the request that Torre delle Stelle be given the status of a municipal fraction” and “we ask, pursuant to art. 31 of the Municipal Statute, that the petition is brought to the City Council , for the determinations of the case which, obviously, we hope will lead to the acceptance of the application, in the perspective of starting a new season, based on the fruitful and effective collaboration between the 'Municipal institution and the community of Torre delle Stelle ”.
