Dilapidated homes, sewage infiltration in every corner of the apartment, rats peeking out of the toilet and bathrooms at risk of collapse. The public housing in Sassari managed by Area (formerly Iacp) is in disastrous conditions.

A state of extreme degradation that puts the safety of the people who live there at risk.

In particular, the buildings in via Giordano, via Monteverdi, piazza Puccini and via Mancaleoni fall apart.

The reports had started in 2017, but no response came from the regional housing company. Gabriele Ruiu, one of the residents of public housing, has for years denounced the condition of absolute precariousness of the buildings and the presence of damage inside his home, located on the first floor of the building in via Mancaleoni, in the Monte Rosello area.

“For some time I have been asking for urgent intervention, - Gabriele complains - I have explained several times that the infiltrations were caused by the water coming from the sewer. The smell was unmistakable and the humidity was rising in the walls of the rooms. Now the rats have dug a tunnel inside the basement walls and arrived at my apartment. "

The Area contract for ordinary and extraordinary maintenance should start in the next few days. Times that are announced to be long.

"So it means that we will start from an initial inspection before seeing an intervention capable of securing my home - adds Gabriele Ruiu - and in the meantime I am forced to live in this unsustainable situation".
