The detailed content of the resolution is not yet known, because the document is not available on the official website. But a note from the Region informs that the executive led by Alessandra Todde, on the proposal of the Environment Councilor Rosanna Laconi, has approved in recent days a financing of 500 thousand euros to start an experimental project in the Municipalities that have recorded the highest number of road accidents related to the presence of deer, especially in areas adjacent to busy roads.

For now, the territories involved are those of Pula, Arbus, Guspini, Laconi and Siliqua, where the phenomenon has proven to be particularly acute. The resolution constitutes a first step to address a growing problem, with the aim of extending the solutions identified to other territories, should the need arise.

It should be emphasized, it says, "that deer are a protected species and that the containment measures to be adopted are necessarily different from those envisaged for other wild species, such as wild boars. Each intervention, therefore, must respect the ecological and regulatory specificities related to the protection of this species, ensuring a balance between the protection of fauna and public safety."

The measure aims to counter the growing number of accidents caused by deer suddenly crossing roads, a phenomenon that is causing great concern among citizens.

In fact, there have been numerous incidents on Sardinian roads recently. Even in recent days, on the State Road 195 near Pula, an accident occurred, the second this month, which caused serious damage to the vehicles involved and increased the risk to the safety of motorists.

"The safety of citizens is an absolute priority for the Region. The increase in the deer population in urban and peri-urban areas, near very busy roads, requires decisive and timely intervention. Thanks to this funding", explains Councilor Laconi, "the Municipalities most exposed to this problem, namely those that have recorded the highest number of phenomena, will be able to activate prevention actions, such as making roads safe, installing dedicated signs and dissuasive barriers, as well as starting targeted studies to manage in a balanced way the coexistence between wild fauna and public safety needs".

Furthermore, the councilor assures, «the recipient Municipalities will be guaranteed not only the necessary resources, but also technical assistance from the Region for the planning and implementation of the interventions, so that they can be implemented quickly and effectively».
