"Today I wanted to be at Brotzu on a weekend that marks an important milestone for Sardinia's healthcare system. Starting today, the extraordinary plan to reduce waiting lists begins."

This was stated by the President of the Region , Alessandra Todde, during her surprise visit to the hospital in the capital to launch the plan.

"I was here to show the healthcare workers the Region's support. Doctors, nurses, and other workers are undertaking extraordinary efforts. They are among the most outstanding, but above all, there is motivation and the will to respond to the cry coming from the Sardinians, to the suffering we see every day," Todde stated. She added: "During my visit, I walked through the main units involved in this phase: from the operating theater, with oncological gynecology and pediatric emergency surgery, to interventional hemodynamics, with urology; from orthopedic surgery and pain therapy to the nephrology and dialysis clinics, and on to neurology, outpatient cardiology, breast surgery, hematology and oncological bone marrow transplant, and oncological radiology. This," the governor concluded, "is a starting point that will gradually involve all the regions of Sardinia."
