A 35-year-old man pleaded guilty to one year in prison after being charged with manslaughter for the accident that occurred on August 17, 2023, on the Arzachena-Palau highway. The victim, a baby just over three months old, was the son of the driver of the car that went off the road.

The child was thrown from the car, and the man was accused of not wearing a seat belt for the child seat. The man, a Senegalese citizen, cleared his young wife, who was acquitted based on her statements.

The child's father claimed he was the one who failed to secure his son while his wife slept. The couple faced the trial with dignity and composure, which added pain to pain.
