The nightmare of arson attacks returns to Porto Torres. The fire that destroyed three cars and damaged a motorcycle parked in via Sassari has rekindled the spotlight on the serious phenomenon. "On the eve of Easter, the city falls back into a gloomy atmosphere that we hoped belonged to the past", said the mayor Massimo Mulas, who on behalf of the entire municipal administration expressed his utmost closeness to those who have suffered damage as a result of this new arson act.

"I intend to send a clear message to the authors - he added - the city will not remain hostage to the vandals. The recent conclusion of the investigations into the demolition of road signs demonstrates that it is possible - thanks to the video surveillance network and the collaboration of all citizens - to give a face to those who operate in the shadows. We will do everything, with the collaboration of the police, to ensure that the responsibilities for this criminal act are identified".

Two cars reduced to ashes belonging to two members of the same family residing in the building in via Sassari, at the crossroads for via Indipendenza. A third owned by a pensioner was badly damaged, while a scooter was burned in the back. The fire also affected and blackened the facade with the serious risk of causing a tragedy due to the presence of LPG cylinders on the external verandas. No trace of devil, but the hypothesis of fraud is the most probable.
