Attempted theft in a legal industrial cannabis plantation in Assemini. The 112 call came last night.
The Carabinieri of the Radiomobile of the Cagliari company intervened on the spot: someone was trying to take away the plants probably to then organize a drug dealing using it as drug hemp. Although it lacks an adequate quantity of active ingredient, it is morphologically very similar to the illegal one and can be mistaken for the same on the market.
The thieves managed to get away and abandoned a van registered to a rental company, containing a significant quantity of legal cannabis, which was returned to the rightful owner.
Investigations are underway to identify the perpetrators of the attempted theft.
