They attempted to evade border controls at Cagliari-Elmas international airport by exhibiting three fake Romanian electronic passports to board the Ryanair flight to London.

Three Georgian citizens are in trouble: from the checks carried out using the equipment supplied to the Polaria, it emerged that the electronic microchip was not read by the computer system. Therefore, a more in-depth investigation of the staff expert in false documents of the Border found that the documents were false.

The confirmation also came from the International Police Cooperation Service, through the collateral foreign body in Bucharest. Accompanied to the police offices, the passengers later confessed that they were Georgian citizens and that they had tried to cross the border with a false document in order to reach the United Kingdom.

They were then arrested for the crimes of possession and manufacture of false identity documents and false attestation or declaration to a public official about their own or others' identity or personal qualities. Judged directly, they were sentenced to 12 months of imprisonment, with the granting of the suspended sentence and the authorization for expulsion.

On the evening of December 23, another foreign national about to board a flight to Great Britain was arrested for being found in possession of a false passport.
