Tense moments last night at the Tulum bar on Viale Trieste, Cagliari.
Carabinieri officers from the Cagliari Company's Operational and Mobile Unit and the San Bartolomeo Station responded to the premises and arrested a 22-year-old unemployed man, already known to law enforcement, who was held responsible for resisting and assaulting a public official.
The intervention became necessary after a report from security personnel: shortly before, the young man had been acting harassingly and aggressively, causing panic among the nightclub's patrons. Subsequently, annoyed at being denied access to the venue, he allegedly sprayed pepper spray at a security guard.
The 22-year-old was quickly located by officers near the club. During the identification process, he was clearly in a state of distress and became enraged, resisting, threatening, and insulting the Carabinieri, and punching one of them in the face. The officers' intervention quickly brought the situation under control.
Once stopped, the young man was arrested and taken to the police station, where he is now under house arrest.
