They had just disembarked from the Gnv Splendid ferry docked at the port of Olbia when they were stopped for a check that revealed 5 cartons of cigarettes.

Two Italians were fined by officials of the Customs and Monopoly Excise Agency (Adm) of the Territorial section of Olbia of the Sassari Customs Office and by the soldiers of the Guardia di Finanza of the Olbia Group, who seized 1,000 cigarettes , found in the luggage.

"The foreign processed tobaccos, held beyond the permitted quantity, integrate the case of smuggling - explain by the Customs and Monopoly Agency - an offense provided for by art. 291 bis paragraph 2 of the TULD, which involves the application of a pecuniary administrative sanction from 5,000 to 10,000 euros ".
