Yesterday, the Health Councilor, Armando Bartolazzi, at the end of the meeting had shown his openness to the proposal - put forward by doctors and associations of cancer patients - to evaluate temporary prefabricated modules outside the Businco , during the works concerning the operating rooms. An option that, however, does not convince the associations. "Unfortunately, once again, we have to record a single thought, that of demolishing two operating rooms of the oncology without guaranteeing, pending the reconstruction scheduled for June 2026, the appropriateness of care for cancer patients", the note issued following the meeting.
The reason for the doubts is linked to the inconvenience for the patients of the Businco: «The proposal to build the prefabricated modular operating rooms», continues the note, «that the associations had suggested last November, started from the assumption that their activation before the works would have drastically reduced the inconvenience for the patients resulting from the transfer of thoracic surgery to San Michele. In the meeting, however, we learned that the prefabricated operating rooms cannot guarantee the therapeutic continuity of the oncology patients because they will not be operational before the demolition of the existing one . And they could be built in five months». All this while «starting in March, Arnas Brotzu intends to start the renovation works».
Bartolazzi had reported the possibility at the end of a meeting called in the presence of the Arnas top management, a representation of doctors from the Businco hospital and various associations. The idea is to have prefabricated modules that can support the hospital during renovation work . But an agreement still seems far off.
