A brief but significant disturbance is preparing to hit Sardinia this night.

Very strong winds that will cause storm surges in the western and northern parts of Sardinia.

The Civil Protection has issued a warning of adverse weather conditions starting from 9pm this evening, Friday 24 November, and until 12pm on Saturday 25.

The coasts of the island, in particular the western one, will be affected by gale-force winds which in the Sulcis Iglesiente area may reach storm gusts, we read in the warning.

With waves of more than 6 metres, the western coast of Sardinia will be affected by a storm which could also hit the northern coast.

Maximum caution is recommended when driving, strong lateral gusts could cause vehicles to skid. Keep away from coastal areas and absolutely avoid bathing and the use of boats.
