Timely intervention by Enas, the Sardinian Water Authority, following the failure in the Coghinas 2 aqueduct. In the afternoon, the teams of workers and technicians managed to complete the repair operation by returning the emergency to the Sassari area. Maneuvers are now underway to restart the pipeline that supplies the Abbanoa water purifiers in Truncu Reale with raw water, serving Sassari, Porto Torres, Stintino and Castelsardo, as well as Monte Agnese for Alghero.

Completion of the intervention one day early should allow almost all planned restrictions to be lifted with the exception of areas served by reservoirs which need to recover levels. In the areas served by the Via Milano tank, fed by the Bidighinzu purifier with integration from Truncu Reale through the lifting of Ponte Rosello, the closure is confirmed for today, Saturday 11 March, from 4pm to 5am the following day.

Depending on the speed of recovery of the levels, some night closures could be scheduled in the following days. No interruptions, however, in the areas supplied by the Quota 300 reservoir of Serra Secca and not even in the districts fed exclusively by Truncu Reale and in the districts served by the Monte Fiocca gravity pipeline.

In Porto Torres, pressure drops are expected in the evening, destined to return as soon as the aqueduct is fully operational again. In Stintino, the supply is guaranteed by the stocks of the tank, while in Castelsardo the recovery is expected in the evening based on the restart times of the Enas pipeline. No restrictions have been programmed for Alghero as the power supply from the Cuga has been activated.
