The wave of the strike hits Sardinia: fifty-eight flights canceled at the three airports of Cagliari, Olbia and Alghero , thousands of passengers grounded. The protest by handling workers has disrupted connections as many are starting their holidays. Transport Minister Matteo Salvini intervenes: «I appeal to common sense. Let some unions not think of harming Italy and millions of workers». Throughout Italy there are hundreds of canceled flights, 150 in Milan alone.

On the island it was the low cost airlines – Ryanair, EasyJet and Volotea – that canceled the largest number of connections. In Cagliari, for now, 36 flights have been eliminated from the departures and arrivals board; in Olbia 18 and in Alghero 4 .

Codacons announces a complaint to the prosecutors and the Court of Auditors.
