Even in the Sardinian centre-right there is a call to hold primaries for the choice of mayoral candidates in view of the next administrative elections. The Reformers launched the proposal, who believe in it " starting from the administrative offices of Cagliari". And who knows if the subtext concerns the willingness just expressed by the former Tourism Councilor, Gianni Chessa, to compete for the most important seat in Palazzo Bacaredda.

In the capital, explains the party secretary, Aldo Salaris, the primaries "would help to overcome the obstacles that still today hinder a desirable and necessary unified agreement on the name of the candidate".

The Reformers have «always and tenaciously promoted primary elections, recognizing the importance of allowing citizens to express their will in the selection of the candidate», explains Salaris, « we have always been the first supporters of primaries and we are increasingly convinced, in light of the complex situations and the difficulties in reaching a unified understanding that choosing the candidate through the primaries is an appropriate and useful choice not only to arrive at the final name but also and above all to push, facilitate, support and enhance popular participation and transparency of political decisions".

Starting from Cagliari where, according to the secretary, "the need arose to restore a direct line between the base and the candidate helmsman".
