There is also the miniature Elephant Tower in the new Lego brick museum , born in the heart of Cagliari , in viale Trento.

It is called Karalisbrick and inside it "find a home" also other symbols of Sardinia - between tourist destinations and monuments - all rigorously made with the famous colored buildings. From Cala Goloritzè to the Basilica of Saccargia, from the Sanctuary of Santa Maria di Vallermosa to the Temple of Antas in Fluminimaggiore . «We also built the Basilica of Bonaria but its extraordinary dimensions did not allow us to pass it through the entrance door. We are working to make it smaller and exhibit it», says Maurizio Lampis , founder and president of the cultural association that created the small toy museum, excitedly.

Fresh from the inauguration, which took place at the end of March, the spaces of Palazzo Merello were imagined and dreamed of years ago, when the project still seemed distant. «It all started when, with my partner Gianluigi Cornaglia , we were just two children with an innate passion for Lego constructions. Over the years we have never put aside this creative side of our lives and little by little we have managed to make this exhibition a reality, which will be permanent». Yet, until the day of the ribbon cutting, the dream of the two partners seemed distant. "For a long time we have organized events around the municipalities of Sardinia - continues Lampis - and having collected more than 40 initiatives with an excellent following, we have decided to take the" big step "".

And the act of courage was rewarded with the many enthusiasts, onlookers and families who decided to spend a handful of hours immersed in a different reality – placing their trust in Maurizio and Gianluigi – where " everything can be built, everything is achievable " . In fact, young and old await – with a black curtain at the entrance aside – a welcome to a world made of dioramas , the detailed small-scale settings that reproduce various types of scenes. And at Karalisbrick you'll be spoiled for choice, given that Sardinia is not the only protagonist of the exhibition. In fact, space is also made for the niches dedicated to the film saga of the Lord of the Rings - with the reproduction of the battle of Helm's Deep and other scenes from the films - to that of Star Wars with all the spaceships of the world created by Lucasfilm. And again, among many others: arctic scenarios , tropical seas with boarding pirate ships, racing cars , the Simpsons universe , the haunted house and many submerged worlds , created inside aquariums.

«The projects on display are only a part of those we have created. It takes us months to complete them and they are all the result of our personal projects. No type of technology helps us, it's all the result of our imagination and dedication», Lampis is keen to underline who, over the years, has bought and collected an infinite number of bricks with the association. "In here alone, with a quick estimate, we have 500,000." And precisely for this reason the worlds on display will never be the same but will rotate, «so that all the works that we can't show now can also make themselves known to our visitors».

And the satisfactions don't end there. The "parent company" has also awarded the founder of the museum with a "very important . «I made a diorama of Piazza San Marco and the shot was shared on the official Lego site. In a world where everything passes through technology, we want to reawaken the spark of imagination and creativity in our visitors», concludes Lampis.
