«In the Sardinia region an overall action is underway for the construction of renewable source plants (photovoltaic, agrivoltaic, offshore and onshore wind power) such as to already exceed today by 7 times what is envisaged by the objective to be achieved by 2030 on the basis of the FF55 , so much so as to prefigure the substantial replacement of the cultural heritage and the landscape with industrial-sized plants for the production of electricity beyond the expected regional needs". A committee doesn't write it, it's not the thought of a citizen clouded by Nimby syndrome (not in my back yard).

The project

The stripping of the planning of the renewable assault against Sardinia is published in a document which bears the logo of the Ministry of Culture in the header. Specifically, it is the opinion given by the "Special Superintendence for the Recovery and Resilience Plan" in the procedure for requesting authorization for the construction of the Serras wind farm, proposed by the company Aja Serra Srl: we are talking about seven gigantic blades, more than 220 meters - previously there were 9, the protests made them reduce - to be planted in the territory of the Municipalities of Sardara, Villanovaforru, Sanluri and Lunamatrona.

Fifty-six pages to express a "strongly negative" opinion on the single project. The general management of the body wanted to monitor the "cultural" aspects of the procedures linked to the Pnrr takes up the long series of criticisms already expressed by the Municipalities of Villanovaforru - at the forefront of the battle against those shovels -, of Sanluri, of the Region, of the Group of legal intervention, of the Lipu and of individual citizens. And he shares them all.

Archaeological assets

«Given the dense presence of archaeological assets in the 3-kilometre range from the wind turbines, considering that the area is characterized by a considerable density of monuments especially relating to the Bronze Age, it is believed that the park as proposed in the planning documentation is not compatible with the protection of the archaeological heritage and therefore a strongly negative opinion is expressed on the intervention» , reads the part that takes up the considerations of the Archaeological Superintendence of Cagliari and Oristano. Furthermore, the designers of the wind farm did not take into consideration "whether the plant could inhibit firefighting through the use of aerial means".

The decision

The Special Superintendence, however, raises the bar and shifts attention to the overall plan for the invasion of Sardinia with panels and gigantic blades, for an energy production that goes well beyond what is necessary and, in any case, of the objectives set for contrasting the change climate. A stance that would be without appeal, were it not for the fact that the evaluation commission on the project is headed by the Ministry of Ecological Transition: it is difficult, however, that it does not take into account a criticism of this magnitude.

Mayor

«The opinion of the superintendence wanted by Draghi», exults the mayor of Villanovaforru, Maurizio Onnis, «is over fifty pages long and is heavily negative, for very different reasons. The observations of our Municipality are explicitly mentioned, which leads me to reiterate: local administrations must produce considered, detailed and technically precise observations ». Then the challenge: «I really want to see Pichetto Fratin's department try to snub these failures. Bottom line: don't give up. Never".
