The Lega della Sardegna asks that snack and food vending machines be installed on board the trains "which would allow the unfortunate passengers a minimum of refreshment to be considered, sometimes, life-saving".

The "hot" theme is the subject of a question presented by the Salvini group in the Regional Council, with the first signature of Ignazio Manca.

The document that urges President Solinas to dialogue with the Minister of Transport (Matteo Salvini) starts from the premise according to which "the lack of infrastructure for regional mobility has been the main cause of Sardinia's economic depression since the 1800s".

The Northern League also say that "the Sardinian railway system is one of the sore points of internal continuity" and that "Sardinia is the only region of Italy not to have an electrified railway network".

Having said this, in fact, they note that "in the summer period, the use of railway means sees the addition of commuters by tourists who choose Sardinia as a destination to spend their holidays".

We move on to the climatic analysis: «In such a context», add Manca, Michele Ennas and their colleague Andrea Piras, «it often happens that despite the unusual temperatures, many trains, even long-distance ones, travel without air conditioning and distributors vending machines for snacks and drinks, primary services that would allow the unfortunate passengers a minimum of refreshment, which can sometimes be considered life-saving».

So Solinas is urged to take action so that "the maintenance of the air conditioning systems is guaranteed at certain intervals and the possibility of equipping the trains, at least the long-distance ones, with vending machines for snacks and drinks is evaluated".
