A lifetime of coming and going from the shadows. A lifetime torn to pieces.

The first fragment of the life of Sandro Arzu, the 56-year-old who disappeared two years ago and was arrested yesterday in Cagliari, tells of two boys and a ferocious revenge. On the evening of Boxing Day 1990 in via Sardegna in Arzana, a young mechanic, Bruno Ferrai, was shot dead among people walking by.

The trial documents written by the Assize Court in Lanusei will provide the culprits and the motive: the brothers Sandro and Luca Arzu, 21 and 19 years old, shoot Ferrai because they believe him to be the killer of their father, Pietro Arzu, a hardworking and spotless butcher murdered while driving up the Orgiolaonniga road, which connects Arzana to the Villagrande-Tortolì provincial road. Sandro Arzu is sentenced to 26 years in prison.

The second fragment tells of Mr. Nobody. What Sandro Arzu had been before the crime, the trial and the conviction. Amateur footballer, a girlfriend, many friends. What he was before his father was killed and during the long years in prison. A model prisoner.

In the third fragment, Sandro Arzu gets into trouble up to his neck. But the real theatrical coup takes place on March 8, 2023.
