They've lost their homes and jobs. That's why they're asking for help. The massive fire that ravaged the countryside in Uras last Saturday also damaged the Mascia farm. For this reason, a fundraiser has been launched on the GoFunnMe platform. Jessica Usai, a relative of the Mascia family, is promoting the initiative.
"The flames took away not just a home, but years of sacrifice, work, plans, and memories," Usai explains on the fundraising page. "That house represented our daily lives, our loved ones, and the place where we were building our future. The farm, on the other hand, was the fruit of our commitment, our source of income, and a project carried forward day after day with enormous sacrifice. Today, we find ourselves facing a very difficult situation. We must address the damage to the home," he continues, "recover what can still be saved, and try to get agriculture back on its feet."
"Many properties," Usai continues, "have been destroyed or severely damaged, and the costs required to restart are very high. We have decided to launch this fundraiser to address the emergency and begin the long process of reconstruction. Donations will be used for basic necessities, to secure the house, purchase materials and equipment, and allow our farm to return to work. Even a small donation can really make a difference."
