Murder in the night in Santa Giusta.

An argument triggered a furious reaction: a man, Andrea Giuntoli, 43, walked away, then returned armed with a rifle to shoot his rival, Francesco Salis, 44.

The victim, hit in the abdomen, collapsed on the ground in via Dante: emergency transport to San Martino in Oristano was useless. His heart stopped beating at the hospital.

The murderer was immediately identified by the Carabinieri, also thanks to the testimonies of people who witnessed the crime: the soldiers went to his home and handcuffed him.

According to an initial reconstruction, the discussion between Giuntoli and Salis began in a club, due to the former's comments and compliments on a relative of the latter.

The tone immediately became heated, perhaps also due to the alcohol. A stick and a billhook would also have appeared. The tension grew higher and higher, until Giuntoli returned with his weapon. He fired only one shot: the rifle was loaded with pellets, the close distance made them lethal.

The murderer was transferred to Massama prison.
