The pressure on hospitals is still high. Ambulances lined up for hours in front of the emergency room of the Santissima Annunziata civil hospital in Sassari, besieged in peak situations of Covid cases such as the current one, with greater urgencies requiring priority assistance.

The hospital staff is exhausted: the risk is determined by a new leap forward in infections with an epidemiological curve that shows no sign of going down. Other hospital departments could be converted into the Covid area.

Data from Agenas, the National Agency for Regional Services, confirm the seriousness of the situation, confirming that the employment of intensive care units is 9 percent, with an increase in admissions in the non-critical area of 20 percent. In the Infectious Diseases Resuscitation Department there are five hospitalizations, of which three positive patients without particular problems related to the virus. The most critical area, the Pneumocovid ward, now saturated with the reception of a large number of patients through the emergency room. A problem of overcrowding for the health facilities of the Aou, which is added to the impossibility of discharging some patients, about 20 elderly, due to the unwillingness to welcome the RSAs.
