At the conclusion of the preliminary investigations into the accident that took the life of Tommaso Ugas, a 17-year-old from Monastir on 12 December 2021, the prosecutor of the Cagliari Public Prosecutor's Office, Nicoletta Mari, requested the indictment of Enrico Marongiu, a 23-year-old also from Monastir , who he was driving the car in which Ugas was traveling.

Marongiu will have to answer for the crime of road homicide aggravated by drunk driving - from the analyzes of the Cagliari Traffic Police he tested positive with a blood alcohol level of 0.79 grams per liter, against the limit of 0.5 - as well as for having caused very serious injuries also to another person, the other passenger of the Ford Fiesta driven by the accused , now eighteen years old, who was saved but reported a prognosis of 280 days.

The preliminary hearing judge of the Court of Cagliari, Elisabetta Patrito, has scheduled the preliminary hearing of the trial for April 12th.
