A one-year prison sentence for abandoning an incapacitated and sick person is what the Tempio Pausania Prosecutor's Office is seeking in the trial into the death of Silvana Gandola.
The story revolves around the pensioner who vanished on the morning of March 28, 2021, from a beach in Aglientu (San Silverio) and died under circumstances that are still unclear. Her remains were found by hunters on January 30, 2022.
The request for punishment is for the caregiver who looked after the pensioner. According to the prosecutor, Silvana Gandola, inadequately supervised, got lost in the dense Mediterranean scrub of the Aglientu countryside.
The caregiver claims she never left the elderly woman alone during the hike near Vignola. According to the elderly woman's relatives, the Tempio Prosecutor's Office's reconstruction of the case contains numerous unclear details. Laura Rizzi, the pensioner's daughter, has filed a civil action and is represented by the lawyer Francesco Rotella. The verdict could be issued on September 22nd.
