She was stuck at sea, with her underwater scooter, in the waters of Sarroch: the current was too strong, so much so that she couldn't go back. But the Coast Guard intervened to save her from the waves, bringing her back to shore.
The episode dates back to the evening of August 19 but has not been forgotten by the woman, who wrote a letter to her rescuers, thanking them for their work. On that occasion, at 7:20 p.m., a telephone report had arrived at the Operations Room of the Coast Guard in Cagliari, from a friend of the woman, who was unable to return due to the strong mistral wind blowing at 42 knots.
The patrol boat arrived on site, and in the meantime the pilot on duty at the port of Sarroch was alerted for immediate intervention collaboration. Thanks to the providential collaboration in the search and rescue activities, in a few minutes the woman was identified and brought to safety. This morning Mrs. CA (she wishes to remain anonymous) met with the Maritime Director of Cagliari Rear Admiral Giovanni Stella, to personally express her heartfelt thanks and share the experience of that evening, "telling what happened, rekindles the emotions I felt when I was alone at sea, I saw the sun setting and I was starting to feel cold, I thank you and the Pilots who saved me and for taking care of me, with attention and human spirit, I saw what solidarity is and the example I received is more beautiful than the fright I felt, I will never forget how much I received".
