The Region has announced that the low cost company has won the negotiated procedure by beating the competition of Ita
After days of stalemate , amidst controversy, missing documentation and appeals to the TAR, the official status has arrived: Volotea beats the competition of Ita and obtains the routes in territorial continuity to and from Sardinia for the next seven months.
This was communicated by the Region, in a note, which reads: "The Volotea Company has been awarded the negotiated procedure with which the Region has assigned the territorial continuity routes".
"The Department of Transport - adds Villa Devoto - has ordered the urgent execution of the service, in order to limit the inconvenience to users as much as possible. As expected, the service will start from day 15. With a subsequent communication, the 'start of ticket sales ”.
THE ROUTES - In detail, the company has been awarded six routes, namely Alghero - Rome Fiumicino, Alghero - Milan Linate, Cagliari - Rome Fiumicino, Cagliari - Milan Linate, Olbia - Rome Fiumicino and Olbia - Milan Linate.
The airline will operate these flights until May 14, 2022, in the meantime a new ad hoc call for territorial continuity will be prepared.
THE COMPANY - Volotea is a carrier, active since 2011, with headquarters in Barcelona. The founders are Carlos Muñoz (managing director) and Lázaro Ros (general manager). In the Volotea fleet there are forty Airbus A319s and A320s.
