Yet another cross on provincial road 83: a motorcyclist from Terralba, 29-year-old Daniele Fonnesu, died yesterday after a fall on the stretch that connects Fluminimaggiore to Buggerru . The accident happened around 7.30pm near Conca de Muxioni. The young man was traveling in the direction of Fluminimaggiore together with some friends, who were ahead of him by a few dozen meters on their motorbikes. While tackling a curve, for reasons yet to be ascertained, Daniele Fonnesu lost control of his powerful Honda 600, purchased only a few days ago, ending up on the asphalt and crashing into the guardrail that delimits the opposite lane. The impact was very violent.

On site, alerted by the victim's biker friends, the 118 staff and a helicopter, the rescuers immediately noted that the young man's condition was very serious. Fonnesu showed no signs of life and all attempts to resuscitate him proved futile .

Daniele worked for Sarda mineral waters; son of a municipality employee, he was well known in Terralba.

The mayor of Terralba Sandro Pili , after giving condolences to the parents, released a statement stating that the town has lost " a good young man, who has long been part of the world of work ".

Two weeks ago on the same road another centaur lost his life: Franco Corda, 76 years old .
