Good news for Cagliari from the report on the "Green revolution - The state of the art of Italian cities" , produced by the Unipol Observatory and addressed to a sample of citizens residing in 9 metropolitan areas, including the Sardinian capital.

The questions posed to the representative sample of citizens relate to green issues: level of energy efficiency and sustainability; air quality; quantity of urban green areas; increase in pedestrian areas; number of charging stations; shared mobility; “city at 30km/h” project; energy efficiency of buildings.

«The results - commented by the mayor Paolo Truzzu - confirm the positive feedback from the citizens in the application of green and environmental policies by the municipal and metropolitan administration: starting from the first place on the satisfaction of the quantity of urban green areas and of air quality, moving to third place in terms of sharing the "city at 30km/h"».

«The numerous construction sites opened in recent months – continues Truzzu – will allow us to improve the Administration's actions precisely on these issues. The momentary hardships that the citizens are enduring will serve to make Cagliari an even more citizen-friendly city, with respect for the environment, our great heritage: I am referring to the forestation interventions that will enrich our city with over 40 thousand new trees, the of historic streets and avenues (via Roma, viale Trieste, viale Buoncammino), interventions on light rail and sustainable mobility, the sustainable metropolitan ring, the efficiency of public lighting and the continuous improvement of the separate waste collection system" .

"With these projects - the conclusion - the Administration aims to obtain the title of European Green Capital 2025, after the second place of the last edition which earned Italy the best result ever in this prestigious award".
