Sixty years to build the charm of the Costa Smeralda around the world, three months to destroy it. With many silences, some complicity and many mysteries. This gentleman of the wind, Bejdic Jasmin, landed in the Sardinian sea directly from Bosnia and Herzegovina, must never have passed through Porto Cervo. Yet in that strip of Sardinian sea he moves as if he were the new owner, ready to decide the fate of a breathtaking landscape, to devastate, with blows of wind turbines up to 385 meters high, every hope of protection and enhancement of that paradise. Some serial "sellers" from Sardinia, even at home in Gallura, climb up daring ruminations all aimed at arguing that both those cyclopean blades, as high as 210 skyscrapers with 128 floors each, would not be seen so much from the ground.

All false

Obviously, all false. Those mammoth wounds to the landscape would not only goug out anyone's eyes, even if they had an "ordinary" height of 268 meters, let alone in the dreaded design hypothesis of 385 meters. To say it are not the environmentalists on duty. To support it are themselves, the lords of the wind, stumbled upon the presentation of a document that they would never have wanted to deposit in the documents of the environmental impact assessment. The project, which got out of control, is that of the company "Odra Energia", of the Falck Renewables group, owned by the American investment bank JP Morgan and the Spaniards of BlueFloat Energy, the same ones who presented the "Tibula Energia" project, embedded between the sea of Gallura and Baronia. In the technical impact assessment report, the company proposed visibility indicators compared with the different levels of observation on the coast, in front of Santa Maria di Leuca, in Puglia. A story similar to that of Sardinia, both in Porto Cervo and in the Baronia, with a distance in that case even greater than 20 kilometers from the coast.

"Very high impact"

The claims are disruptive: the landscape impacts of the 90 blades in the Apulian sea, for a total power of 1,350 megawatts, are defined by the designers as " Very high ". Analysis filed with the Ministry of Ecological Transition: difficult to make it disappear. For Sardinia, the disaster would be even more devastating considering that we are talking about the most sensitive naturalistic areas. To think that an unknown "srl", the "Zeffiro Vento", capital of ten thousand euros, coming from Denmark, founded not even three months ago by Bejdic Jasmin, can grab over one billion and 747 million square meters of sea in one fell swoop. Sardinia, would mean believing that Sardinians have a nose ring. In reality, it is a Far West, both on land and at sea, with the island at the mercy of massive speculations, covered by grave silences that allow these "strangers" of the wind to act in contempt of every rule. The planned 210 wind turbines from 385 meters high, to be placed right in front of the entrance door of Sardinia, in the Port of Olbia, on the main access routes to the island, are the most evident demonstration of the unscrupulousness of those who ignore respect. environmental, navigation safety and tourism development. The times to stop this assault are very short and, as often happens, coincide "deliberately" with the summer. From north to south it will be August without respite.

The Sardinians have nothing left

In fact, in these next two months, the fate of Sardinia is decided both in terms of aggression against its sea, its landscape and its tourist future, and with regard to the definitive cancellation of that feeble energy autonomy left on the island. It is clear, in fact, that the Sardinians will have absolutely nothing left of all this "renewable" energy. It will all end in the “continental” circuit through the new electrical connection cable with Sicily and Campania, the one that Terna is planning with a “crazy” expense of 3 billion and 700 million. On this aeolian assault, however, cards, protagonists and accomplices will soon be revealed. In fact, in a few days it will be known who took sides, without ifs and buts, in the defense of Sardinia and who, on the other hand, was watching. On the 30th of this month the deadlines for the "opposition" to the "Tibula Energia" project, the one between Olbia and Siniscola, expire.

Region & Statute

The municipalities, economic operators, individual citizens and above all the Region can present them, which on this game is played not only the competence on the landscape, in a case never addressed before, but also that relating to the matter of energy, competing with the State. It is clear that this decline in wind farms will have a heavy impact on Sardinia's energy strategy which, if implemented, would lose any autonomy and competence in the "production and distribution of electricity" referred to in the Special Statute.

The game of the South

A game that will go live as early as 18 July with the first service conference on the Repower 33 wind turbine project, in front of Teulada, followed on 24 and 25 August by those for the 48 wind turbines in front of Carloforte and Sant'Antioco, and on 26 and 29, again after mid-August, for Nora 1 and 2, in front of the Golfo degli Angeli. A summer of fire for the island of the wind.
