A villa confiscated from the mafia and another property located in the heart of the city of Sorso will be transformed into temporary accommodation for homeless and vulnerable people and in situations of social marginalization.

This is the Housing first project (First housing) , an important intervention for social inclusion and cohesion - financed by Pnrr funds and by the European Union - Next generation Eu - and assigned to the Social Territorial Area Plus which includes Sassari, Porto Torres. , Sorso and Stintino for different intervention measures.

The Municipality of Sorso received a total loan of 710,000 euros which will be used for the renovation (500,000 euros), and the management costs (210,000 euros) of municipal-owned buildings to be used as structures capable of accommodating people for a maximum period of 24 months, subjects supported by a multi-professional team who will develop an individual project for each guest aimed at personal or family and professionalizing and working strengthening.

“In the intervention program - said Mayor Fabrizio Demelas - two structures owned by the Municipality have been identified: a building in the city center, in via La Marmora, and a house confiscated from the mafia in Platamona. The Social Policies and Public Works services will work in synergy for the construction of the two assisted housing structures and the consequent constitution of a territorial multi-professional group for taking charge of users ".
