Prosecutor Milena Aucone has requested a 16-year sentence for Mario Masala, accused of the voluntary homicide of his neighbor Tonino Pirastru , whom he ran over and killed on purpose, according to the prosecution, with his van.

The episode occurred on July 3, 2024 in Liscia di Vacca , the trial with abbreviated procedure is taking place in Tempio. Masala has ruled out having wanted to kill the pensioner .

According to investigators, there was no love lost between the two neighbors, their relationship was very tense due to disagreements over a shared space for cars to pass between their homes and there was a furious argument just a few hours before the tragedy .
