The President of the Region, Christian Solinas, met with Pope Francis today in audience. The governor was with the Committee that deals with the celebrations for the 150th anniversary of the birth of Grazia Deledda.

Solinas asked the pontiff for “a prayer and special attention for Sardinia, a land he particularly loved and visited at the beginning of his pontificate. I entrusted to him the sufferings, anxieties and hopes of this people, especially the problems of young people, of work, human, moral, social and economic progress of Sardinia ".

"In a moment marked by great difficulties but also by the many opportunities that the recovery phase offers us - added the president - we feel the Pope particularly close to all Sardinians, especially those who suffer from lack of work and social conditions disadvantaged. I hope that the Holy Father will soon return to Sardinia among us ”.
