The president of the Region, Christian Solinas, says he is serene and this afternoon he should appear in the Regional Council where the discussion on the no-confidence motion against him will begin at 4 pm ( HERE THE NEWS ). "I am concerned about governing Sardinia: this evening I will go to the Chamber with the serenity of someone who wants to undertake a discussion on the things that have been done and that remain to be done".

The governor said it on the sidelines of the ceremony for the 100 years of the Air Force at the Decimomannu base.

The issue was brought to the agenda by the opposition, after Sardinia - with its executive - gave the green light to the bill on differentiated autonomy. But this is only the key to bring the discontent against the junta to the Council, on many fronts. Even if the outcome of the vote, with the rejection of the motion, appears obvious: the majority, on paper, has 17 more votes.

«Specifically», added the governor when answering journalists' questions, «the motion concerns a topic which in my opinion deserves reflection and an open debate and we will return to the Chamber once the outcome of the discussion is over. At the moment the bill, for the first time in the history of the republic, recognizes insularity as an element to be protected and valued and therefore certainly represents a step forward".

In all the interlocutions two arguments were raised, continued Solinas: «We are not frightened by the fact», he explained, «that other regions may have greater scope for autonomy, because it means greater responsibilities, this clearly must apply to everyone and therefore it must see a path of adaptation and reform of the island's special statute that recognizes new competences or consolidates those already foreseen. On the other hand, from the point of view of revenue, it has no impact on the island's budget».
