The proceeds from the second Valentino Melis memorial, the gathering of Vespas and Fiat 500s held in Trexenta , were donated to charity in support of cancer patients. The memorial dedicated to the young entrepreneur from Selegas, characterized by an extraordinary participation of citizens and neighboring towns, was promoted by the Melis family in collaboration with the Municipality and the Pro loco of Selegas.

Approximately 8,000 euros were raised which, through the involvement of the Women's Health and Men's Health association, allowed the purchase of five relaxation armchairs that transform into beds for the relatives of hospitalized patients donated to the Armando Businco oncology hospital in Cagliari . Part of the proceeds were also used to co-finance the Nutrition Project , to support patients before, during and after oncological therapies. «If we have succeeded in our objective – says Riccardo Melis, brother of the late Valentino – it is thanks to the great commitment of the mayor of Selegas Alessio Piras, of the president Pro loco Michele Fadda, of the oncologist Francesca Bruder, of Rita Grazielli and Maria Efisia Mascia of Women's Health".

The delivery ceremony of the five relaxation armchairs was held in the Businco hospital in the presence of Valentino Melis' family members, the medical staff and the people involved in the charity project. Salute Donna e Salute Uomo is a national association with over twenty years of experience in the fight against cancer and a section has been present in Sardinia for about five years. It deals with support for patients and their families, socio-health training, physical education, nutritional education, legal advice, consultancy activities and psychological support for patients.

The Valentino Melis memorial is now an unmissable event for fans of Fiat 500s and derivatives of historical interest and Piaggio Vespas. Preparations have already been started for the third edition of the memorial which will be held in September , when - for an entire day - the small center of Trexenta will attract the many motor enthusiasts, in particular of the vehicles that have made the history of two and four wheels in Italy. «The streets of the area will be crossed by a colorful snake of cars and scooters», says the mayor of Selegas Alessio Piras.
