A car on fire, an attempted stabbing and even a bite to the nose.

A busy afternoon yesterday in Soleminis, in via Stazione, where the carabinieri of the Dolianova Station and colleagues from the Radiomobile intervened for a fire and found themselves having to put up a fight despite themselves.

The facts: a Ford c-Max belonging to two Nigerians aged 33 and 47 caught fire. When the carabinieri arrived, the two were taking it out on an unemployed sixty-year-old from Soleminis, whom they accused – «in full knowledge of the facts» the carabinieri specified – of having started the fire.

A quarrel that could have ended in blood, and in this sense the arrival of the military was providential. While one of the two Nigerians tried to stab the 60-year-old with a knife and the other bit him on the nose, the carabinieri calmed down.

The episode ended with three complaints: aggravated threat and resistance for the two Nigerians (one was also referred for carrying offensive objects), damage to the Italian.
