Sinnai, the blessing of the palms: Father Biccai enters the church on a donkey.

Crowds of faithful gathered this morning at the parish churches of Santa Barbara and Sant'Isidoro and at the small church of Santa Vittoria in Sinnai for the blessing of the palms. The Piazza di Santa Barbara was packed.

Many children and families also attended the ceremony, bringing palms, which were then blessed by the parish priest, Father Gabriele Biccai, in an atmosphere of great emotion and faith.

After the blessing, the parish priest himself entered the church in a singular ceremony riding a donkey, following a very short procession with the same faithful.
