An evening and a night with a breeze appreciated by all.

The first edition of "Currendi a lugori" in Sinnai achieved an extraordinary success with 400 members and with many people who attended the singular procession of athletes and amateurs who invaded the streets of the historic center, even arriving in the pine forest .

To organize the event, taking care of every detail, the TriSinnai association of Marilena Atzeni with the patronage of the Municipality, the local Police, the local social and cultural associations and those of the Vab and Masise Civil Protection .

A great effort to ensure the safety and regularity of the highly anticipated appointment.

Before the start there was also a minute of meditation to remember Simone Longu, an athlete who died a few days in a car accident in Cagliari and who should have participated in the race.

In short, a splendid evening, for an event that we hope to be able to repeat over time not only for the sporting impact it had, but also for the social aspect with the involvement of children, young people, the elderly.

Among the participants also Raffaele Floris, 78 , from Sinna, who arrived from Turin for the occasion, and Cosimo Lai, the 87-year-old former cycling champion who took part in the first phase of "Sa Walk" through the streets of the town. Present were the president of the municipal council Alessandro Orrù , the deputy mayor Barbara Pusceddu who participated in the award ceremony, councilors and municipal councilors.

Pierpaolo Cinus was the first to cross the finish line in 36'15. In the female category, success of Cinzia Meloni of TriSinnai.

“A first edition beyond the rosiest expectations”, says Marilena Atzeni . “Lots of smiles. This was the goal. A special dedication to Simone Longu that I carry in my heart. It gave me the strength to handle the stress of such a demanding organization. Everyone's work was rewarded by everyone present. We are proud and now the appointment is for next year ”.

Roberto Loi , city councilor who strongly wanted this event: “A great satisfaction to see so many people. Behind the day, there was truly extraordinary teamwork. We can only be satisfied ”.

So much happiness in the faces of the athletes. Barbara Serreli , second in her category, was on her absolute debut: “It was a unique emotion. I enjoyed a lot".

The oldest in the race, Raffaele Floris, born in 1944: "I couldn't miss it and honestly I didn't regret it. It was all really nice. I was moved."

The ex-Sardinian cycling champion Cosimo Lai, who remained in piazza Sant'Isidoro after having covered a kilometer of the event, was also present at the awards ceremony.
