An explosion damaged the window of a 90-year-old woman's home in Silanus. A similar explosion occurred in the town center, destroying doors and windows, again affecting elderly residents .
The vandals (still unknown) acted during the night between Sunday and Monday, at the end of a beautiful day of celebration , during which the “Cosas bonas de Silanos” event took place, which saw the entire town participate together with traders and producers and which attracted thousands of people from all over the island.
Acts of vandalism, Mayor Gian Pietro Arca explains, have devastated a part of the town. "They are not a prank, they are not a prank. These are serious and cowardly acts , which offend and damage the entire community. What is even more shocking and hurtful is the fact that these acts were perpetrated against elderly, lonely, and defenseless people , and against those who worked so hard to ensure the success of the event and promote the area and its products."
"This is a wound that affects us all," the mayor continued, "because it affects the most vulnerable and the honest work of a community. Silanus is not like this, and we will not allow a few cowardly acts to wipe out the work, commitment, and dignity of an entire town . As an Administration, we feel the full weight of what happened and the responsibility that comes with it, and for this reason, we are trying to do everything we can to combat these sad phenomena, starting with schools, with young people, with those who are currently building their own way of being in the world and in society."
