Carabinieri officers from the Pula station and the local Domus De Maria station intervened in Cala Cipolla following reports of migrants who had just landed on the coast.

The military located approximately 17 people, who identified themselves as Iranian nationals. Among them was an injured man, who was immediately treated by 118 paramedics, who arranged for the helicopter to be activated and transferred to a hospital.

According to initial information gathered by the military, the vessel carrying the migrants sank and some are missing.

For this reason, the Port Authority was contacted and the Carabinieri Helicopter Unit of Elmas was activated for a search reconnaissance.
