The Public Prosecutor of Sassari has officially opened an investigation into the shipwreck of the two Sassari divers in the Gulf of Asinara last Wednesday during a sport fishing trip. The investigations, coordinated by the prosecutor Lara Senatore, are entrusted to the Port Authority of Porto Torres, in collaboration with the carabinieri of the Porto Torres company and the provincial command of Sassari. On the story, which saw Giovannino Pinna, 35, and his cousin Davide Calvia, 38, go down with a boat in the stretch of sea between Stintino and Porto Torres, there are many aspects to be clarified.
Pinna was found alive after 24 hours on a beach in Marritza, on the coast of Marina di Sorso, while Calvia is still missing. The survivor is hospitalized in the Santissima Annunziata hospital in Sassari , where he arrived last Thursday night in a coma induced by hypothermia and the principle of drowning. He is fine now, the doctors have resolved the prognosis and he will be heard by the investigators in the next few hours. With them he will have to clarify the point and the ways in which the boat sank. And also what is the means by which the two were making an underwater sport fishing trip, as they reported to the Coast Guard at the time of the distress call. One of the hypotheses under consideration by investors is that the two cousins may have used a boat that disappeared on the evening of Wednesday 12 April from the moorings of the Porto Torres port. Disappearance reported by the owner.
The investigators have acquired the images of some video surveillance cameras of the Turritan port and are analyzing them to try to find useful elements for the investigations.
